Metal seeker suggestion

Metal seeker suggestion

From a metal detectorist’s point of view here is one suggestion how to get more clarity on what happened on Oak Island. It takes just the little effort of several man days.
If someone earlier than 1800 created the suggested treasure pit then he had to create a large construction camp. Traces of this camp can be found even today. So many workers concentrated on such a small area for several months or years leave metal objects behind. They lose coins, buttons and other small items which can be dated.

Of course, the digging area itself will be contaminated with the junk from the salvation attempts of the last 200 years. So I would ignore this area and try to find the rest or camp places several hundred meters away from the construction yard. If there is a sweet water spring on the island this will be the best choice. Otherwise the camp will be probably located near the anchor place of the ship. There must have been a ship to supply the workers.
