Former Toll Station.

The small elevation to the right might have once carried some structure.

As mentioned in the article traces of old traffic can still be seen in this forest. These traces, however, do not point to the former castle. They are probably several centuries younger, date into the 15. to 18. century, and point to a small farm on elevated ground. The farm’s name indicate it was once a toll station. Literature and archaeologists agree. So it is a good place to find old coins and thus date the traffic. In a small village nearby several decades ago during renovation works a coin cache of the 17. century was found. Maybe this wealth was earned at this toll station. Anyway, this is a different search project..
