3 D map with best finds
Finally, the best finds are marked on 3 D maps. These maps are created imposing a normal 2 D map or aerial picture on a digital elevation model. This technique is described in a separate account. See the “related topics” section at the end of this account for details.
3 D map
Here the 3 D presentation of the distribution of the best finds is shown. The observer looks toward the east.
3 D aerial photo
Nice effects can be obtained using an aerial photograph as texture. The houses on the left belong to the village at the bottom of skull hill. Marked in red is the main roads the German soldiers had to block. When the US soldiers finally came from the right the German soldiers had left.
